The lock box initiative provides free lock boxes to anyone who requests them, at community events and to community partners. Each lock box is the size a lunchbox, is marked with the BASE logo and has a programmable combination lock.
PURPOSE: Affect the number of medications that are being diverted from house-holds by implementing the comprehensive initiative in the community.
Contained within each box is:
– Information about medication misuse/abuse
– How/where to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired medication
– How to return the box if it’s no longer needed
– A utilization survey
Make a commitment to prevent medication misuse and abuse in our community! Use a lock box provided to you by BASE, FREE of charge. To request a lock box, contact BASE today! Lock boxes are also available at the Evansville Police Department (10 W. Church Street, Evansville, WI) or Creekside Place (102 Maple Street, Evansville, WI).
How Does the Initiative Work?
Base engages 7 key partners and has developed unique policies and practices for the promotion, distribution, and utilization that build off their sphere of influence. Each partner is working to make their commitment part of their formal policies including participation, distribution and promotion.
REMEMBER! It is important to do your part to keep prescription drug medications out of your homes; out of our water; out of the reach of children!
