The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Initiative aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Each year in the spring and fall, Evansville, WI Police Department (EPD) hosts a Prescription Drug (Rx) Medication Take-Back Day. The EPD collects unused, unwanted and/or expired medications Building A Safer Evansville helps to sponsor this event.
Thank you to everyone that participated in Evansville’s Fall Rx Take-Back Day! On Saturday, October 22, 2016, the Evansville Police Department collected 32 lbs. of medication! That amounts to 272 lbs. collected since spring 2016! To date (October 2016), the EPD has collected and disposed of 2,456 lbs. of medications. These medications are now out of our homes, our waters and the hands of our youth!
