Q: How did you first hear about BASE?
A: My mom was the Human Resources Director for the Stoughton School District and worked very closely with Jen Braun in Building a Safer Stoughton (BASS). She spoke very highly of Jen and the work of BASS so I was excited and eager to join Evansville’s BASE when I became the Director of Student Services for ECSD.
Q: Why did you decide to become a coalition member?
A: BASE is an incredibly important partner to ECSD. BASE helps with the funding and organization of trainings, events, materials, and communication for our staff, students, and community. I am honored to help strengthen this partnership and do everything I can to enhance the safety of our students in our schools and community.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being involved with BASE?
A: Working with BASE to obtain meaningful data to determine the prioritization of supports so all students feel welcomed, included and a sense of belonging has been my favorite part of BASE so far.
