Q: How did you first hear about BASE?
A: How I first heard about BASE was from a friend (Jada) who joined in middle school. I also have heard about it from peers who have joined before. I never knew much about the organization but I learned a lot from others to get to know more about the organization.
Q: Why did you decide to become a BASE Youth Coalition member?
A: At first I decided to become a member of BASE because I had a few friends that said it was a great organization. They mention that the people and atmosphere were really wonderful. My personal reason for joining was it sounded like a lot of fun and is a great way to give back to the community. Being part of an organization like this can really expand my knowledge, gain experience with working with others to improve my leadership skills. I can also learn more about myself in the process. I see no negatives associated with join BASE. The people are great, and it can also is a valuable way of spending my time.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being involved with BASE?
A: My favorite thing about being involved with BASE has to be the people, of course. Secondly, participating in different types of projects to give back and spreading awareness/helping others.
Q: Is there anything fun or interesting we should know about you?
A: One thing I really like doing is baking (mostly the tasting part) so I wouldn’t mind volunteering to help out with any fundraising activities – especially events that need cookies! I’ve been doing MMA for 9 years and I really enjoy helping others as much as I can. I will try to put as much effort as I can into helping BASS as the youth representative!
